The operationalization of the Mimwaita borehole marks a turning point for the entire community. With a functional rising main connected to the school storage tank, children now have:
  • Clean drinking water within school grounds
  • Improved hygiene and sanitation
  • More time for learning, free from water collection duties
  • Greater protection from waterborne illnesses.
The cleaner environment also enables better school attendance and a more supportive learning atmosphere.

The Mimwaita Water Project was supported through a strong collaboration between:
World Vision Kenya, which drilled the borehole at a cost of KES 2,500,000.00 and invested KES 2,448,040.00 in installing the rising main and school connection. Davis & Shirtliff and Britam Foundation, who contributed KES 3,160,525.00 to equip the borehole and install a sustainable water pumping system.

This joint effort has resulted in a fully functional water system that supports children’s health, hygiene, and school performance.
