In many villages, families are walking long distances every day in search of food and water. For countless households, even these long journeys end in disappointment, despite the recent rains, there is still dry riverbeds, empty granaries, and days without a single meal.
The hardest hit are children. Many are going to bed hungry for several nights in a row, surviving on the little their families can share. The images from Turkana tell a difficult story: caregivers carrying heavy jerrycans under scorching heat, children waiting for emergency help, and communities struggling to keep hope alive.
Yet, in the middle of this crisis, your support can change a child’s story this Easter.
What we are currently doing
Across drought‑affected areas of Turkana North, Central, South, and East, World Vision Kenya is running a life‑saving food assistance response that ensures vulnerable families can access nutritious food with dignity and in time.
Through 24 distribution points, the programme is currently reaching:
- 51,150 people (8,525 households)
- Monthly distribution of 1,188 metric tonnes of essential food
- Integrated support services including nutrition screening, WASH messaging, and community accountability systems.
A dedicated on‑ground team from field monitors to logistics officers and trained community volunteers is working daily to ensure families do not slip deeper into hunger.
But the need is still far greater than the available support.
Your support to the Inuka Angaza Fund directly helps provide life‑saving food assistance to vulnerable households in Turkana.
Here’s what your giving can do:
- KES 500 – Provides drinking water for a child for several days.
- KES 1,000 – Supplies a nutritious food pack for a vulnerable child.
- KES 2,500 – Provides a family food basket with maize flour, beans, oil & porridge.
- KES 5,000 – Supports a week of emergency food and water for a household.
- KES 10,000 – Helps deliver water trucking, food supplies & essential emergency items.
- KES 20,000+ – Strengthens community-wide emergency response.
Every contribution, small or big, helps a child eat today.
Hunger should never be a child’s story.
This Easter, you can help protect children and families in Turkana from the worst effects of hunger and drought.
Your generosity can put food into empty hands and hope into weary hearts.
