Thursday , 30th January 2025, World Vision Kenya, through the Inuka Angaza Fund, partnered with the WE-LEAD Programme under the dynamic leadership of our Regional Leader, Lilian Dodzo, and joined forces with the Lady Care Partnership to bring transformative change at Gicheha Primary School in Salgaa, Nakuru County.
This event was a powerful testament to the impact of collaboration, focusing on mentorship, menstrual health awareness, sustainability, and hope. Together, we created a day that not only inspired the students but also laid the foundation for a brighter, more equitable future.
Here’s a closer look at how we made a difference:

Mentorship That Inspires
At the heart of the day were the mentorship sessions. Women leaders from the WE-LEAD Programme engaged deeply with the students, offering one-on-one interactions that went beyond the classroom. These sessions provided a safe space for the children to share their dreams, challenges, and aspirations.
The leaders listened intently, offering encouragement and wisdom, reminding the students that their potential is limitless. These moments of connection were the highlight of the day, leaving both the mentors and mentees inspired and hopeful for the future.

Promoting Menstrual Health Awareness
A key focus of the event was menstrual health education—a critical yet often overlooked aspect of girls’ education. In partnership with Dadacare, we worked to break the stigma surrounding menstruation and ensure that every girl has access to the knowledge and resources she needs.

Essential Donations
To support the students’ academic journey, we donated essential school supplies, including stationery. These contributions are more than just material items—they are a step toward removing barriers to education and empowering students to reach their full potential.

Planting Trees, Planting Hope
The tree-planting activity at Gicheha Primary School symbolized our commitment to a greener future. Together, we planted trees around the school grounds, creating a lasting legacy that will benefit both the students and the environment.
These trees are more than just symbols of growth—they are a reminder of the resilience and potential of every child. As the trees grow, so too will the students, nurtured by the support and opportunities provided by this initiative.

Celebrating Impact and Community
The commissioning of a new water tank, funded by Inuka Angaza, was another highlight of the day. This tank will provide clean, reliable water for the school, ensuring that students and staff have access to this essential resource for drinking, sanitation, and hygiene.
The success of this event is a reminder of what we can achieve when we come together with a shared vision. At World Vision Kenya, through the Inuka Angaza Fund, we remain committed to education, empowerment, and sustainable development.
But our work is far from over. We invite you to join us in this journey of transformation. Whether through donations, or spreading the word about our initiatives, your support can make a world of difference.
Together, we can empower more children, break down barriers, and create a brighter future for communities across Kenya.
